In this cakes and cupcakes section, I have put personal pictures of my cakes and cupcakes.

I took a very basic cake decorating class with two friends a few years ago, and have tried to make cakes for the kid's birthdays as often as I could.

My friends love making cakes also, so we get together and usually make a day (or night) out of it. Some of these cakes were created in those"Cake-Making Sessions" with my friends, and I will admit that without their help and encouragement, the best cakes would probably not turn out as well as they did.

I am a perfectionist, and I tend to over-correct or over-think the cakes. Also, with my babies being born less than two years apart, I was pregnant/breastfeeding for many of those sessions, and the cakes would have melted away or been forgotten more than once!

We started experimenting in cupcake making recently, creating various flavours. Cupcakes are a fun way to serve delicious desserts. They can be put together in interesting ways or used as the base of a cake to create wonderful edible art.

Hopefully this section will give you ideas, inspire you, and maybe make you laugh at my blunders. The only cake you won't see here is my infamous "Shark who ate Nemo". Someday, I will have the courage to share that story on my Blog. Until then, you can look at the work of a regular mom who can never make enough cakes to her heart's content. Thank goodness there is a birthday almost every two months at our house!

As the kids get older, I hope to share some of this fun with them. Until then, you are stuck with me. ;)
